Safeway DIDN'T Deliver ! - Safeway Brand ASA 81mg, shopping experience


Firstly, I would like to say to-day's One Day Sale on A.S.A. 81mg is AWESOME. However, my experience trying to get some WAS NOT. This morning I telephoned the Safeway in my area, Austin Ave in Coquitlam BC, to see if they had any in stock. The Pharmacy told me, "yes", I then asked it they had alot. She replied,"yes". I acknowledged what she had said and ended the conversation saying I would be there shortly and thank-you very much for the information. I drove down there within 1/2 hour to see there was none on the shelf. I went to the pharmacy counter directly, told them about my call and was just told, "there's no more". The pharmacist then directed me to get a rain check from the cashiers at the front. I stood in line for about 10 mins., very busy, and asked the male cashier nicely for a Rain Check as I was directed from the pharmacist. He asked the female cashier beside me if he could do this and she felt it couldn't be done, but she would call the manager on the store phone and see, (since I was told I could). When she got off the phone I was told still NO and that the pharmacy doesn't know what they're talking about. I was annoyed as I did call ahead and then my solution was O.
I had to go to Lougheed Mall in Burnaby BC later on and when there I thought I would just check to see if they had any left, (a larger store), for the heck of it. What a difference.......The pharmacist, oriental lady, very pleasant, polite and obliging. I told her what had happened earlier and she and another clerk replied, "that's why we do our shopping here." They were out, but were giving out Rain Checks for same. I think the Austin Store should take some Customer Service courses, especially the Manager, and learn from their sister store in Burnaby......I'm also wondering why Safeways have different rules? Or do they?
A Frustrated Lady who wasted her time this morning.....I would appreciate a response!
