    Purrchased a Tiramisu Cake sold by Safeway, was looking good..But that was it. Served it to our guests at home, nobody finished their slice. The cake tasted chemicals, that product is actually loaded with chemicals. Unfortunatelly, I realized it AFTER the purchase. Before throwing everything away, I did red the label...     It has been a LONG time since I had been treated so rudely and inconsideratly. After many phone transfers and LONG time waits I ended up being transfered to what I believe was your financial department. Anyhow the guy who answered was IMMEDIATELY rude and hostile.     Linda Mar Safeway has ample parking, a few nice checkers and some pretty good buys. Now for the negative:::: Nov 5th, the computer tells me I have 3 free items on just for you. That%u2019s great except the store only has one of the items. So I waste a half an hour looking for the other two. This happens all the time. Then we have produce.     Hello, This message is for ALL SAFEWAY STORES & CORPORATE!!! Im just a regular customer. I truely would like to shop at Safeway over Frys but the truth is Safeway's Flyers are sooooo cluttered with itty bitty coupons and small little pictures of products that it makes my eyes buggy, Its too much for me to concentrate on.     I was recently hired as a 'courtesy clerk' at a Safeway store. I went thru orientation and totally loved the job as I understood it to be during orientation and training.   • Safeway makes no effort to order what you want to buy

    For months I have been driving to various Safeways in Berkeley, Oakland, Orinda, San Leandro - anywhere I see one, I pull over to see if they have the items I want. One item I want in bulk is the Odwalla bar - Sweet and Salty Almond. The store on College Avenue in the Rockridge area always had them for me, but they are being bulldozed in a week.     I have been shopping at the Bryans Road, MD Safeway for 13 years. During that time, I have found the service at this particular Safeway continue to decline. Tonight I went to shop for seafood from the seafood counter. They have a sign that clearly states that the hours that their Seafood Department is open is 10 am until 7 pm.   • Lucerne Light Yogurt

    I loved this product. It was one of the only light yogurts that had Sucralose instead of aspartame. I saw the label had changed to indicate new great flavor and the ingredients were changed to have aspartame. Sooo disappointed.     I bought an Instant Oatmeal from Safeway the other day and realized it expired JAN 20 2011 until i cooked 1 packet and tasted so bad!     I went to my local Safeway in Sweet Home Oregon to day to get WIC & buy a couple things. Now I use to work at Safeway & Walmart & I rang up plenty of WIC orders & I didn't feel it would kill me in any way..     I've shopped at Safeway for 40 yrs on and off. Well I had this happen at other stores but it's happened 4 times now at Cottage Grove Safeway in Or I have purchased milk and half&half there and in a few days it's undrinkable...... and that's with the date still good.     I don't know what is going on with my neighborhood Safeway. They have expired food items on the shelves. I first noticed it when I purchased a bag of Beneful for my pet.Went to open the bag and noted the food had expired months ago.     I shop at the Safeway company called Von's in Southern California. They have a program called "Just 4 You" that has a web site with several categories of offers available to club members who have signed up for the program. One of these categories lists their current "Club Special" prices, that are actually supposed to be available for all club members. I have consistently found that many of these prices have not been available at the store, however.     I remember when the Safeway in my hometown was the place you avoided but they've done a good job of perserverance and for the past 25 years I've had a Safeway that's 2 blocks away and I've found my shopping experience there (Pinehurst, Seatte) to have been mostely pleasant in spite of the things that can go awry in any business.   • Safeway Carts equipped with sensors that disable wheels

    Store at 5545 Connecticut Ave., Washington, DC. If you try to push your cart onto the parking lot, the wheels freeze up about 10 feet from the entrance. There are no signs or any other notice that warns against doing this. In fact, the store has a cart corral on the lot to return carts after unloading at your car.     I always get deli sandwiches from Safeway. In the past, almost every deli clerk from various stores I frequent has been kind, courteous and understanding of the number one rule...THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!     Today at about 6:30 I went to Safeway swan hill the power was out but the shopping by customers went on at usual.   • cooking directions wrong

    I have tried to make two lasagnas, bacon wrapped filet mignon bites, garlic bread, and mandarine chicken, all of which turned out terrible after cooking thanks to the directions on the box. I follow the directions to a T, but the lasgnas would turn out burnt on the outside but frozen on the inside, the mandarine chicken would be red and bloody on the inside (big no-no) and the filet mignon bites would fill my apartment with smoke, yet the meat would still be raw.   • Pricing misleading

    Evening Nov. 19th 2012 went to Safeway to purchase turkey for Thanksgiving. 18 lb. turkey priced at $38.00 dollars but was $18.00 and change with club card on tag. At register the turkey came to $38.00 and change. Safeway management told me that you have to spend $35.00 before you can get the discounted price per pound.   • Filthy store in Evergreen, CO

    I have complained numerous times that the Safeway store if dirty. The carts are awful and to think we place our food in that cart. They are so bad some carts are literally black with dirt. The floors are filthy too.   • Safeway switching prices, rude and worse employees

    When I go to Safeway I now only buy a few things because most, some times all the sale items ring up at the wrong price. I've even tried going back a few days while the sale is still on to see if they've corrected the mistake and they NEVER do! Now with the new online coupons it even worse. Once you ring up the discount disappears from their website so if I hadn't emailed myself (and had my phone with me) I wouldn't have been able to show the employee that I was over charged. I have shopped Safeway for over 50 years and the groceries part has been great. Yesterday we went to use our Gas rewards and was told that if we used our Credit Card the gas would be 10 cents higher but if we used a Debit Card or Cash we would get the 20 cent discount. this is a rip off if there ever was one. I even have a prefered customer card....We used our Credit card for all shopping everywhere. This is enought to make me consider using another store than Safeway after all these years. Where is your customer appreciation. The young man said he could take my Credit Card and purchase a Gift Card for me to use. I never give my Credit Card to ANYONE.... why would I suddenly give it to some high school kid to take out of my sight????? It is time to think about what you are doing to customers that have been loyal to you. Years ago when you enlarged the store in Sweet Home, Oregon I went to the Safeway Store in Lebanon, Oregon rather than change to another grocery store in Sweet Home.

I had company from out of town this weekend, and had to do some quick shopping at my local Safeway. I was pretty worried about it actually, as have been having bad luck with lots of product there as far as freshness goes, but was in a hurry. When I got into the San Luis Sour Dough Bread I found it was hard as a rock...and not due to expire for four days......I opened the bag of potatoes and three were rotten......and the pint of blueberries I purchased two days ago are mush......Yep and the new employees are not taught manners, or maybe they are just plain fed up, as seem to be handling an overload of customers for amount of clerks....and we have prices which have soared out of control for rotten product? Get a grip it really all about profit at the cost of customers and workers? Shame on you.

I like the selection and weekly deals. The store itself organized pretty good. BUT! Customer service is awful! I don't like when some poorly educated store associate pointing at me with her finger to some other employee saying "Go, explain to her, she doesn't understand". Please, hire someone with at least BASIC math skills, seriously! I don't need to be told that 2+2 equals 5!
Learn customer service from Wegmans! I'm taking my business to them!

The Safeway store in Fountain CO, 80817, has decided that I, the customer, can no longer purchase the Safeway Select New York Extra Sharp White Cheese that I have procured for years. You, management and decision making entities, must return this product to this store, as I have also learned from store employees that I am not in the minority of enjoying this particular product.

One I bought a cake at safeway, when I was at the cashier I noticed that the cake was 2 days outdated. I told the cashier if I can get a discount on that. she said, o No, we can not sell that anymore because its outdated. she took the cake away. I thought she will damp it in the garbagge, but i went back to the shelfs where I got the cake, what a surprise, she put the cake back on the shelf! just in case anothe stupid customer won't look at the date and pay the full price for it. I wanted to file a complaint regarding my experience this morning. I went into the Safeway located at 6440 E Yale Ave in Denver, CO 80222 just to purchase an ice cream cake. I went through checkout # 3 & had my complany jacket on; the woman at the check-out line became angry when she saw the company I worked for & began complaining about her own personal bill with several customers in her line. I asked her nicely to contact our call center for her billing concerns & she kept going on and complaining about my employer. She rudely asked for my $8.99, I gave her a $10 & she literally threw my $1 back at me. I thought this was rude & unprofessional. If she were to have approached me in a friendly manner, I would've been more than happy to assist her with her personal bill.

Safeway is way overpriced. . .price at checkout is often not what is indicated in their sale ads or on shelf. . .discontinues name brand products in order to stock their Safeway brand. . .stores have 9 or 10 registers but only 3 are ever open. . .takes longer to pay for then it does to shop for groceries.

I do not recommend the Safeway Pharmacy at 700-15355 24 Ave, Surrey, BC. While I was waiting there were 3 people who were all given the wrong prescriptions (including one lady who had been taking the wrong tablets for THREE months). And then the person looking after me did not seem to know what she was doing and the service was very slow. I had previously gone there to drop off my prescription and it still was not ready after almost 2 weeks. They entered my birth date incorrectly after I explicitly stated my birth date twice and they told me that it was my health insurance providers who had it in their system wrong. So after calling my health insurance providers to confirm they had the correct date on file I discovered the Safeway Pharmacy assistant had entered it wrongly as January 6th instead of June 1st. If they get confused about birth dates I do not trust them with my prescriptions. I will not be returning to that pharmacy.

I shopped at the safeway 15411 New Hampshire ave for 7 years and most of the cashiers have been very nice until i had to deal with Susan. She I said good morning like always, she was nasty and she will not even look at me. I usually get help to put my food in the cart, but she just left it on the counter top and was very rude and acted like i was there to get the food for free.I don't understand we're paying for there service and all we get is nasty customer service.

I had an amazing experience at the Hood River Safeway Floral Dept. They did all the flowers for my wedding, and I could not have been more impressed. They worked with me to tailor each bouquet exactly how I wanted it, and total came to a small fraction of the price of the other floral shops in town. Supermarket floral shops are not the first place most brides think of to shop for wedding flowers, but I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a personalized experience and great custom floral arrangements with an affordable price to boot!

I have tried for months to obtain Florida Natural orange juice growers style at my local store at 4th & M sts. S.w. Washington D.C. All I hear is we don't have it. A few weeks ago I went to your Cherrydale store in Arlington,Va. and your fancy store at 5th&L st, N.W. I got the same reply. They have all other varieties. Giant food, Harris Teeter and Shoppers Food don,t have this problem. Why doesn't Safeway carry growers style?

i have shopped at safeway since i was a child since the town i grew up in doesnt have that many grocerie store and this is the nearest one to me in auburn ca.
i was in there one day when i saw a manager completly ream an employee for something so stupid how do they keep employees when they treat them like crap! this was not the only time i saw this and after the third time i decided i would never shop somewhere where they treat there employees like this.

whats with no fresh sourdough bread at your safeway stores in novato at 5 pm like you advertise. other stores up and down northern calif have a bake at 5 pm

I have been a huge fan of Ranchers Reserve until tonight when I had possibly the worst roast I can remember. It was the round tip roast on special this week, I followed the directions on the package, and after one bite of the meat, my entire family refused to eat the extremely tough tasteless meat. What a waste of money.
